January 23rd, 2014: Indigenous Services Joel Burton (PhD candidate, Dept. of English) and Candace Brunette, Coordinator of Indigenous Services, hosted an intimate discussion centering on applying one’s personal gifts to their fullest capacity. The students were asked to identify a personal gift and encouraged to share an experience in which the gift had helped or affected their lives. This truly touching and captivating discussion left the students feeling a newer and deeper sense of understanding and appreciation for themselves and for each other.
Following the discussion, the students were invited to the Indigenous Services space to enjoy a deliciously authentic bowl of corn soup and listen to some wonderful songs performed by members of the community.
